Down The Rabbit Hole 2018 Joy & Bliss Chardonnay

This wine is our joy and bliss. There's a drop of happiness in every sip. A creamy mouthful with hints of passionfruit and honeydew, followed by a crisp finish with long lasting flavour.

As with all our labels, this pencil sketched illustration represents a line of our poem - and this one is "Another world of Joy & Bliss". For us, nothing represents this more than the joy of the journey, wherever it may lead. It's what wine is for us, and it's what life is for us.

We are incredibly happy with this Chardonnay - it's our idea of perfect. Crisp and vibrant, with just enough oak to give it that silky finish. We are confident this will be a crowd pleaser, and will be exactly what you're after when the light turns golden at the end of the day.

ENJOY :)

Vintage report
A wet winter in 2018 set the vines up well for the growing season.
Summer and early Autumn were unusually dry, keeping disease pressure low. Favourable summer ripening weather with daytime temperatures in the high twenties, with cool nights, led to fruit in great condition at picking. This translated to a very civilised vintage, with all fruit coming into the winery in outstanding condition and in a very timely fashion.

Winemaking Notes
The fruit was crushed and destemmed straight into the press. The juice fermented slowly at 11-13 degrees in stainless steel for 2-3 weeks. Fermented on full solids. Fermented dry.
Lees stirred every 3 days to build texture and mouthfeel. Underwent partial malolactic fermentation in barrel. Filtered prior to bottling.

Tasting Notes
COLOUR Pale straw
BOUQUET Attractive, lifted bouquet of passionfruit and honeydew and some zesty citrus notes
PALATE Flavoursome, fresh and lively. A creamy mouthfeel with a crisp green apple finish.
