Down The Rabbit Hole 2022 Joy & Bliss Chardonnay

Down The Rabbit Hole 2022 Joy & Bliss Chardonnay

This wine is our joy and bliss. There's a drop of happiness in every sip. A creamy mouthful with hints of passionfruit and honeydew, followed by a crisp finish with long lasting flavour.

As with all our labels, this pencil sketched illustration represents a line of our poem - and this one is "Another world of Joy & Bliss". For us, nothing represents this more than the joy of the journey, wherever it may lead. It's what wine is for us, and it's what life is for us.

We are incredibly happy with this Chardonnay - it's our idea of perfect. Crisp and vibrant, with just enough oak to give it that silky finish. We are confident this will be a crowd pleaser, and will be exactly what you're after when the light turns golden at the end of the day.

Vintage report
McLaren Vale experienced a wet winter, but also a mild spring and summer. This created superb ripening conditions from fruit set and flowering through version and ripening. Yields, however, were slightly down across the board. 2021 was touted ‘the best quality vintage so far this century’, but 2022 will give it a run for its money. A civilised vintage created a relaxed picking environment and enabled an ideal balance of sugar ripeness, natural acidity and texture in the resulting wines.

Winemaking Notes
The fruit was crushed and destemmed straight into the press. The juice fermented slowly at approximately 14 degrees in stainless steel. A portion then underwent malolactic fermentation in new French oak, followed by a further twelve months to mature. Filtered prior to bottling.

Tasting Notes
COLOUR Pale straw
BOUQUET Attractive, lifted bouquet of passionfruit and honeydew and some zesty citrus notes
PALATE Flavoursome, fresh and lively. A creamy mouthfeel with a crisp green apple finish.
