Friends & Lovers - 2024 Rosè

Our ‘Friends & Lovers’ Rosé is a dry, french style rosè. Considering how dry it is, it still has a beautiful structure and body. Aromas of wild strawberry, rose petal and a hint of violet. Fresh and crisp, offering a refined texture and savoury complexities on the palate, creating a balanced, rich mouthfeel with depth and elegance.

Vintage Notes 

The lead up to the 2024 vintage progressed with distinct weather changes and challenges. The growing season began with dry spells and cool nights contrasted by warm days. Spring brought strong winds during flowering, impacting crop levels. Significant summer rains arrived in December and January, which then led to a notably dry vintage. A heatwave in March, with four consecutive days above 37 degrees Celsius, added further intensity to the season. Despite these trials, the lighter crop permitted us to carefully manage the fruit intake.

Winemaking Notes

Harvested from three separate blocks across McLaren Vale, each parcel was destemmed, then left on skins for up to 3 hours to allow the beautiful colour to develop before pressing. The juice settled prior to fermentation, which then took place very slowly at 12-14 degrees in stainless steel for several weeks to dryness. The pressings were fermented separately, then a portion was blended back in at final blending, further building texture and mouthfeel. Filtered prior to bottling.
